Register Your Own .Game Domain

Are you setting up a website for your game? Forget that boring .com domain; now anyone can register a website with the new .game domain.

Uniregistry this week released the content-specific extension, aimed at—you guessed it—the gaming community.

Virtually every leading brand already snagged their .game domain during Uniregistry's early trademark enrollment period. Blizzard Entertainment, for example, catalogued its complete list of titles, including Warcraft, Starcraft, Hearthstone, Diablo, and Heroes of the Storm; it also snatched up, in time for the new multiplayer adventure's launch.

"We're excited to bring .game to the Internet," Uniregistry managing director Frank Schilling said in a statement. "And we're especially pleased to see the early adoption of the name by the world's leading gaming companies."

It's not just game makers acquiring .game domains: Apple purchased,, and; Microsoft picked up; and Sony Interactive registered

Even folks working in the industry are getting in on the action. Georgia Van Cuylenberg, voice actor in the Final Fantasy, Star Wars, and PayDay 2 gaming franchises, grabbed (which redirects to her IMDb page). "Voice acting for video games is an essential part of my performing career, and a specific domain…gives me the ability to express and showcase my level of dedication and passion for the gaming industry," she said.

Domains like,,,,,, and are also taken. Most sites, however, do not appear to be live yet.

Interested parties can visit for more details on the new domain name, available now worldwide.
