Microsoft today reported earnings for its third fiscal quarter of 2016, including revenue of $22.1 billion and earnings per share of $0.62. In Q3 2015, Microsoft saw $21.73 billion in revenue and earnings of $0.51 per share.
Analysts had expected Microsoft to earn $22.09 billion in revenue and earnings per share of $0.64. The company’s stock was up 0.34 percent in regular trading, but down some 3 percent in after-hours trading. Microsoft said it returned $6.4 billion to shareholders in the form of share repurchases and dividends during the quarter.
