NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet, Tablet K1 Updated With Security Fixes and Vulkan Conformity


SHIELD Tablet and SHIELD Tablet K1 owners are being met with a software update this morning from NVIDIA, one that brings conformity with Vulkan, as well as a few security updates. To make sure you are running the latest build possible, the update for the SHIELD Tablet is labeled as Upgrade 4.4, while the Tablet K1 update is labeled as Upgrade 1.5. 

According to the changelog for both devices, the tablets are also being updated to fix a boot loop issue users faced when an SD card was nearing its capacity limit. Additionally, NVIDIA lists that it has fixed “Android Privilege Escalation Exploit (CVE-2016-5195),” otherwise known as “Dirty COW.”
