Samsung Seeding Invites to June 2 Launch Event in NYC

...

Invites are being sent out to the inboxes of media people, such as ourselves, directly from Samsung. The invite details a media event that is to take place on June 2 at 5PM in New York City. As stated, media are invited to, “Experience how Samsung’s devices work together to create a Galaxy of Possibility.”

So, what is Samsung going to announce? Well, if I was a betting man, and considering all of the leaks regarding a certain wearable (Gear Fit 2) device, I would put my money on that. It is also possible Samsung may introduce the reported Bluetooth-powered “IconX” earbuds, too, but this invite is limited in detail. Since this is not an Unpacked event (where Samsung usually unveils new Galaxy smartphones), I doubt we will see any mention of a Galaxy Note 6 or Galaxy Note 7 if you believe everything you read.

Also listed on the invite is a performance from Diplo and a “surprise guest.”

June 2 is this Thursday. How exciting.

Get Ready for 14nm and 16nm Chips

But if the chip-manufacturing companies are a little later than I would have expected for 20nm, they are planning to shift quickly to the next node, the 14nm and 16nm chips. It won't surprise me if we see very few 20nm chips, and instead see a lot of designs skip that generation and go directly from the 28nm processes standard on most leading-edge chips today to the 14 or 16nm generation.
