Stuck for ideas about a Halloween costume this year? Not musician Chris Kiley, he’s definitely all set for October 31 with his hilarious Samsung Galaxy Note 7 costume, and it’s one that makes him look smoking hot, in the truest sense of the phrase. Posted on his Facebook page, Kiley’s costume looks very simple at first, just six Galaxy Note 7 boxes stuck to a t-shirt. That is, until he blows into a tube. That’s when the smoke starts coming from the boxes. Kiley’s eyebrow raise and mischievous grin says it all.
“This year for Halloween I’m going as a fire hazard,” Kiley joked when sharing the short video demonstrating his costume. If you’re wondering about the inspiration behind this wonderfully on-topic costume, then it’s all due to the Galaxy Note 7’s unfortunate propensity for exploding, which prompted a large scale recall in August, before Samsung officially shut down production a few months later and effectively canceled the Note 7 entirely.

While we may giggle at Kiley’s cheeky stab at the Note 7’s misfortunes, Samsung executives may not be doing much laughing. The company’s latest financial figures are expected soon, and early indications are the firm will miss out on at least $2.3 billion in revenue because of the Note 7, with a lot more to come. The fallout may continue until next year, leaving Samsung with a financial hole of more than $20 billion when it’s all over. At the moment, Samsung is unlikely to be in the mood for jokes. It has even sent out a gag order to staff, warning them to stay quiet about the phone, which we’d imagine includes not laughing at Note 7-inspired costumes.
One thing though Chris, we don’t recommend trying to get on any planes wearing this costume. Carrying just one Note 7 onboard at the moment could mean a $180,000 fine and a five-year jail term, and we doubt security personnel will see the funny side of six smoking Note 7s, even if they are just boxes.
