HTC today introduced the latest addition to its One lineup: the One A9s.
The 5-inch handset sports an HD 720 Super LCD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, choice of 16GB or 32GB storage and 2GB or 3GB RAM, and a microSD slot that supports up to 2TB. Running Android with HTC Sense, the One A9s also features a fingerprint sensor, 2,300mAh battery, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and two cameras.
There's a rear-facing 13-megapixel main shooter and a 5-megapixel front cam that takes selfies to the next level with functions like hands-free Voice Selfie, smile-activated Auto Selfie, and Live Makeup, which lets users beautify themselves before snapping a photo.
The phone includes unlimited free storage via Google Photos, while the search function lets you locate photos by face, location, objects, and themes, or manually with keywords.
The Boost+ function reduces unnecessary power consumption of background apps, clearing out temporary files and reminding users about neglected apps. HTC Freestyle Layout allows users to drag icons, stickers, and widgets anywhere on the screen, layering, overlapping, and grouping them.
Details on pricing and availability were not revealed, but as Engadget notes, it's a step down from the premium HTC One A9 in terms of specs, so it'll likely be cheaper.
