The need for creative workers spans all industries. These mobile apps can help IT pros brainstorm new ideas and organize their thoughts to improve problem-solving.

Most people typically associate creativity with inherently artistic fields such as writing, design, or music. Technology isn't often included among those fields that immediately come to mind.

However, creativity is core to professions across all industries and technology is no exception. It inspires employees to open their minds, approach situations from unique angles, and generate ideas to solve problems and come up with new ideas for the business.

While it's important for employees to think creatively in their day-to-day roles, it's equally important for managers to give them freedom to express their ideas. As new technologies continue to roll out, companies will need fresh ideas as they figure out how to accommodate them.

"Promoting a culture of creativity requires honing the skills of observation and invention -- generally the purview of artists and designers -- throughout your organization and aligning core systems to reinforce the creative process," Barbara Dyer, president and CEO of The Hitachi Foundation, wrote in Fortune.

Popular business apps are being updated to help support creativity in the workplace. Microsoft, for example, recently updated Office apps, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, in order to support fingertip scribbles. Users can now draw or write directly on the app. This feature was previously limited to the iPad and iPad Pro.

The new feature makes it easier to jot down new ideas as they come to mind, and accommodate visual learners who are more likely to doodle pictures rather than write words as they brainstorm.

For IT pros who need a boost to jump-start their creativity, an outlet to express themselves, or a means of organizing ideas, there are several mobile apps available across the Apple Store and Google Play.

We're highlighting mobile apps that can drive employee creativity in the enterprise. Have you used any of these apps, or have any to add to the list? We welcome your thoughts and recommendations in the comments section.
