OnePlus 3 Sales Paused in Europe

...

Customers trying to buy a OnePlus 3 in Europe are out of luck—for now.

Sales of the flagship phone have been temporarily halted in a number of countries due to overwhelming demand. "We were confident in the OnePlus 3 when it launched, but sales in mainland Europe have been way better than what we expected," OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei wrote in a blog post.

"Therefore, we've decided to temporarily pause sales in some countries in order to give inventory time to replenish," he announced.

Online sales for the following regions will be placed on hold from Aug. 9 until Sept. 12: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain, as well as Hong Kong.

Folks in the affected areas can sign up online to be notified once the handsets are back in stock. This only applies to new orders after Aug. 9.

"We are working hard to secure more stock and fire up more production lines so that we can fulfill our goal of putting premium products into the hands of as many people as possible," Pei said.

Consumers in the US, meanwhile, can continue shopping for the limited-edition OnePlus 3 "Soft Gold" smartphone, launched last week for $399.

The OnePlus 3 debuted in February and arrived in June—no invite required. Powered by the Android-based OxygenOS, the 5.5-inch device features a 1080p Full HD display, customizable navigation keys, and a fingerprint sensor to quickly and securely unlock the phone.

It also boasts a 3,000 mAh battery and Dash Charge (which can replenish 60 percent of the battery in only 30 minutes), as well as an 8-megapixel front camera and 16-megapixel rear shooter.
