Samsung+ App Adds Remote Support

...

Even the most experienced smartphone user occasionally grapples with their handset. But have no fear, Samsung Galaxy users: A new app puts customer service in the palm of your hand.

The company on Thursday announced a revamped version (3.0) of its Samsung+ app, with features like live support, Samsung Assist, On-Demand Answers, and device diagnostics.

Available now to download from the Google Play store, Samsung+ now provides live support via video or audio chat, with the added option of Samsung Assist.

New to version 3.0, the function allows a support representative to remotely operate and troubleshoot your device, wherever you are. Currently available on the Galaxy S7 (pictured) and Galaxy S7 Edge (and coming to more devices soon), users must grant permission during a video chat or phone call with a representative before activating Samsung Assist.

Not everyone wants someone tinkering with their handset, though, so Samsung also offers On Demand Answers, which include FAQs and troubleshooting tips for DIY problem solvers.

Meanwhile, the app's Diagnostics feature keeps tabs on your device's battery health, data, and security, while a library of tips and tricks (think Apple's built-in iOS Tips app) helps you learn more about your smartphone, as well as Samsung home appliances and other consumer electronics.

Plus, download the app for exclusive access to content and rewards, including personalized offers, discounts on products, and ticket giveaways for big events.
